Your Opportunity - We are looking for an Applications Development Engineer with technical expertise in the field of semiconductor packaging. Previous experience involving direct and independent interactions with external clients is highly valued.

The Role – As part of the Application Development team, you will develop and demonstrate manufacturing solutions using PulseForge equipment, with a focus on temporary bonding and debonding technology in microelectronics. Your work will involve hands-on process development, project execution, and customer collaboration.

You will define project scopes, implement solutions, and report outcomes for both internal research and customer-driven projects. This role requires attention to detail and safety when working with laboratory equipment and chemicals. You will frequently interact with customers, including on-site visits, requiring effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with customers to understand their technical challenges and identify how PulseForge solutions can meet their needs. Perform design-of-experiment (DOE) to identify processing conditions and optimize process yields
  • Perform design-of-experiment (DOE) studies to optimize processing conditions and improve process yields.
  • Translate PulseForge's technical advantages into clear, compelling insights for clients.
  • Own and manage customer projects, ensuring alignment with semiconductor manufacturing and packaging processes.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal teams, influencing product development and manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to support internal processes and customer interactions.
  • Represent PulseForge at industry conferences and trade shows.
  • Travel up to 10%, including visits within the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or natural sciences.
  • 2+ years of applied laboratory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent time management and adaptability in balancing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical knowledge in a dynamic environment.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in engineering or natural sciences.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor equipment and backend semiconductor processes.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, material, mechanical, and chemical aspects of semiconductor packaging.
  • Understanding of packaging process flows, from concept to production.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in a fast-paced environment.
